How to mix Wella Koleston Perfect Me+

Wella Koleston Perfect Me+ is a professional permanent hair colour that is mixed with Welloxon Perfect. Here we go through the mixing ratio, which strength to choose, how long the colour should be left on and how to apply it. The information is based on Wella's own instructions. Always follow the instructions on the packaging and do a patch test according to the manufacturer's recommendation.

Mixing ratio

  • Regular shades (Pure Naturals, Rich Naturals, Vibrant Reds, Deep Browns): 1:1, for example 60 g colour and 60 ml Welloxon Perfect.
  • Special Blondes (12 series): 1:2, for example 60 g colour and 120 ml Welloxon Perfect.

Mix in a non-metallic bowl until you get a smooth cream. Weigh and measure, do not guess.

Which Welloxon strength should I choose?

Desired result Strength
Same depth or darker, no grey coverage needed 4%
1 level lighter and coverage of grey and white hair 6%
2 levels lighter 9%
3 levels lighter 12%
Special Blondes: up to 3 levels 9%
Special Blondes: up to 4 to 5 levels 12%
Pastel toning 1.9% (Welloxon Perfect Pastel)

Processing time

  • Regular shades: 30 to 40 minutes without heat, 15 to 20 minutes with heat.
  • Special Blondes: 50 to 60 minutes without heat, 25 to 35 minutes with heat.

How to apply

  1. Lightly dampen the hair.
  2. Apply the colour according to Wella's instructions for your work. When lightening, the colour is normally applied first to the mid-lengths and ends, and then to the regrowth, because the heat from the scalp makes the colour work faster there.
  3. Leave the colour to process according to the table above.
  4. Emulsify with a little water and rinse out thoroughly.
  5. Finish with an aftercare treatment, for example products from Wella Color Save.
